OHRN Research (updated 17 June) The Comprehensive Health Assessment Tool (CHAT) - Young People in the Secure Estate CHAT has been developed to provide consistent and comprehensive identification and assessment of the health and health-related needs of children and young people in contact with the youth justice system (YJS). The tool is based on academic research findings into the circumstances, needs and responses to children and young people. The tool has been piloted in a range of settings. The CHAT project has been developed as a partnership between the Department of Health and the Youth Justice Board.
